Sarah-May is an award winning West Australian artist. Starting out as a ceramic teacher Sarah-May is now a full time studio ceramicist. Drawing on her travels through Turkey, Arabia and Italy, and her interest in painting, she makes brightly coloured tableware flamboyantly decorated in swirls, flowers, hearts and fish. Hand built and hand painted in her garden studio Sarah-May values not only the beauty but also the functionality of her ceramics. As everything is hand made no two pieces are ever quite the same. Her work is becoming highly collectible as one piece is never enough!! People often describe Sarah-May's work as a "little piece of sunshine."

"I started painting ceramics for a hobby, loved it so much I became a teacher and now do it full time. I love the design, the painting, the 3d aspect of my work and the alchemy of the kiln. There is nothing more exciting than opening the kiln to see how your pieces have turned out. My ceramics have been inspired by my travels to Europe, Saudi Arabia and Turkey where I especially loved the turquoises used on their tiles. I like to surround myself with bright happy things and I hope people will get as much pleasure from using and enjoying my work, as I did in making it."
